Warlock / Shadow Priest / Resto Shaman
The rot comp. Two DoT classes, double fear, Mana Burn, and totem coverage behind them. Nothing about it is subtle: opponents drown in shadow damage while their own CC breaks uselessly on DoT ticks.
Specs
- Affliction Warlock Caster DPS
- Shadow Priest Caster DPS
- Restoration Shaman Healer
Game plan
Spread DoTs on all three enemies, alternate fears on melee and healer, and Mana Burn whenever the enemy healer shows. Tremor Totem covers your own backline from fear wars. Kills come to whoever's healer runs dry first, and it will not be yours.
Why it works: synergy
- Full DoT spread makes the team nearly immune to Polymorph, Sap, Blind and Freezing Trap.
- Double fear plus Tremor Totem wins every fear war by default.
- Mana Burn, Viper-free drain pressure and totem efficiency create an unmatched resource game.
- Grounding Totem eats one setup spell per cycle, degrading script comps every fight.
Counters
Cleanse-bot Paladins undo the DoT and fear game while double melee trains the Shadow Priest.
The Druid ignores fears via shifting windows and WMD pressure outpaces rot in short games.
Dangers: how this comp loses
- Paladin Cleanse inverts the entire mana math of the comp.
- The Shadow Priest gets trained by every melee cleave and has no escape once Scream is down.
- Slow kill speed means one mispositioned pillar moment can undo two minutes of rot advantage.
What Forever changes
- Troll Warlock and Gnome Priest (confirmed combos) both slot naturally into this comp.
- Undead Paladin existing on both factions means more Cleanse-heavy counters in the ladder pool: a real meta threat to this archetype.
