Blizzard announced World of Warcraft: Forever at the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony: a permanent Classic+ game alongside Modern and Classic WoW. Level 60 cap forever, no flying, no level scaling, launching November 4.
The Sept 13 deep dive detailed the camping system, account-wide Legacy progression, realmless rulesets replacing servers, opt-in transmog, deliberately un-solved itemization, six new race/class combos, and the Paladin rework with Holy Strike and Seal of Fury.
The new Skyborne race and its Zephras Isle starting zone are only available through the paid Skyborne packs ($30 and up). Part of the community sees a fair cosmetic-era tradeoff, part sees a playable-content paywall as a line crossed. Blizzard has not announced any other way to unlock the race.
One slide laid out the first year: beta Sept 17 to Oct 22 (level 30 cap), name reservation Oct 27, launch Nov 4, raids unlocking Dec 9, then major updates in Spring and Summer 2027 including new raids, dungeons, and refreshed PvP seasons.
One new battleground is confirmed: Dark Spear Islands, a 15v15 map with control points with flag captures that must be defended. Rulesets replace PvP servers entirely. The honor system, ranking, and arenas are unannounced: nothing from either panel covered PvP rewards.
The base game is included with a WoW Subscription or Game Time: no pack is required to play at launch. A physical Collector's Edition includes the Warcraft Forever Collection digital code.
